Course Description/Topics:

The course provides participants with a solid technical foundation into Optical Networking and key components, understanding of different Transport Technologies and associated elements use in a Telecommunication network.  Network evolution from Plesiochronous/Synchronous Digital Hierarchy to Optical Transport Network including basic fundamentals or overview, frame structures, network topology, different network protection architecture, operation, administration, maintenance and troubleshooting of a Transport network are to be discussed in the seminar.

• Multiplexing and Add Drop Multiplexer (ADM)

• Overview of PDH & Optical Fiber Transmission

• Transport Technologies (SDH+ASON, DWDM, OTN)

• Transport Network- Operation, Administration, Maintenance.

• Transport Network - Basic troubleshooting.
